Privacy and cookie statement

In short: the calculator runs in your browser, your figures are not sent to us, and the site uses no tracking cookies or analytics. Last updated on 21 September 2026.

Who is responsible

The figures you enter

Every calculation happens in your own browser. The amounts you type, such as your income, the purchase price or your loan, are not sent to us and are not stored on any server.

The address in your browser changes as you use the calculator, so you can bookmark or share a scenario. Income and savings are left out of that address. If you use "Copy link to this scenario", the link does include them. Anyone you send it to can see those figures.

Cookies and local storage

This site places no cookies. It uses no analytics, advertising or social media tracking.

Your browser's local storage keeps one setting: your language choice, so the site opens in the right language next time. When you switch language in the calculator, your figures are briefly kept in session storage so they carry over to the other language, and removed straight after. Both stay on your device and are only used to make the site work. You can remove them by clearing your browser's site data.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Netlify, Inc. When you visit it, Netlify processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, to deliver the site and protect it against abuse. We do not use this data to identify you. Netlify is based in the United States and is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission recognises as providing adequate protection. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website.

Contact form

If you use the contact form, we receive your email address, your message, the topic you chose and, if you give it, your name. We use these only to answer your message. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in replying to you. Submissions are stored with Netlify, which checks them for spam, and are forwarded to us by email. We delete messages within 12 months after the conversation ends. Please do not send financial details such as your income or account numbers.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. Send your request through the contact form. We reply within one month.

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Changes

If we change how the site handles data, for example by adding analytics, we update this statement first and change the date at the top.
